The term Dynasty has been used to describe a particular family who had control of Ancient Egypt over a period of many years. Historians believe that there were about 30 different Dynasties that ruled Egypt from 3100BC - 332Bc.

Task Two: Everyday Life
Daily life in Ancient Egypt revolved around the Nile River and the fertile land along its banks. The yearly flooding of the Nile enriched the soil and brought good harvests and wealth to the land. The people of ancient Egypt built homes in villages and in the country. They grew some of their own food and traded in the villages for the food and goods they could not produce.
Most Ancient Egyptians worked as field hands, farmers, craftsmen and scribes. A small group of people were nobles. Together, these different groups of people made up the population of ancient Egypt.

Task Three: Religious Practices
Religion was an important part of Ancient Egyptian life. Though their religious practices were very different from our own. They believed in a bunch of different Gods all of whom played an important part in everyday life.
The afterlife was very important to the Egyptians especially the Pharaohs, as they were believed to be the decedents of gods, they wanted to emulate the life of the gods.

The Egyptians are often depicted as being preoccupied with death, given how much has survived of their burial practices.
This includes substances used in embalming, texts for the assistance of the dead, stone tombs, and the mummies themselves.
But the Egyptians actually loved life!
They loved life and the enjoyable experiences in it so much that they worked hard to make sure that it would continue beyond the grave.
